Good evening!! Kevin and I took a break from painting and headed north to Lake Texoma for the 4th! We had a great time with family and friends on the lake!! We left for the lake on Saturday afternoon, hoping that the weather would cooperate. For awhile, everything went great! There was a nice breeze keeping everything nice and cool on the water. It was a little too cool to swim, which was nice because most 4th of July weekends you need to be in the water to be comfortable. We went out for a boat ride, anchored the boat, and played Dominoes with Kevin's parents. Everything was going great until we saw the sky turn dark. We decided it would be best to head in and try to get into the marina before the storm hit. Here are a few pictures of the dark sky on our way in. It got really eerie, but looked really cool with the water turning green.
We woke up the next morning, and it was the 4th of July!! And, it was a pretty day with no rain in sight! Kevin's brother and sister-in-law (Kyle and Ashley) came up for the day, as well as some family friends (The Goodes). It was a wonderful day filled with fun, swimming, and lots of food! We were out on the lake all day relaxing and having fun. As it got dark, we took the boat over to find the perfect spot to watch fireworks. We found our spot, put the anchor down, and waited for "dark-thirty" for the show to begin! It was a great firework show! They had the coolest fireworks, with some shaped like hearts, stars and smiley faces. It was nice to sit at the top of the boat with Kevin and watch the show! I was sad to see it end. We tried to take a few pictures of the fireworks, but they didn't turn out so great. Right at the end of the show, I thought it would be a good idea to video tape it, so here is a little glimpse of the show. If you listen closely, you can hear the boat horns celebrating the end of the show.(Sorry if the video doesn't work....I'm so new at this!)
Overall, it was a great weekend! I love going up to the lake, and can't wait to head back sometime soon!! We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July! Now...back to painting!!
